September 9 – 19, 2015
Ten full days devoted to art classes and fun.
With world famous artist Richard Robinson as our tutor, we’ll paint and sketch, go sightseeing, explore out-of-the-way places as well as see the legendary sights of Spain. We’ll sample local cuisine, talk to people we meet on our travels and have a real traveller’s experience. The very best painting locations have been selected so we can quickly get to work in a range of memorable painting spots.
Also we will meet one of the greatest contemporary Spanish landscapes painters – Fermin Garcia Sevilla – who will be painting a day with us sharing his incredible technique and secrets.
Mornings and early afternoons will be dedicated to art instruction at different picturesque spots, afternoons to lighter coaching or other fun activities such as a cooking demo and coffee painting masterclass. During the evenings, our discussions will be over authentic gourmet meals and superb Spanish wine. We will spend one day in Segovia as well, which was declared a Word Heritage site by UNESCO. We will visit the Alcazar, The Lady of Cathedrals and a Roman Aqueduct (dating from the late 1st or early 2nd century), as we enjoy some of the city’s most important sites with an English-speaking professional guide.
We will stay in lovely country houses, called Casas rurales El Porton, with private garden, a swimming pool and a barbecue area, all next to the medieval town of Pedraza, just 20 km from Segovia and a one hour drive from Madrid.
Non-artist guests could enjoy plenty of activities in this beautiful land. In addition to visiting medieval castles, museums, and cathedrals, they can also go horseback riding, bike and play golf, use quadricycles and even canoe.
